Onutė Zenevičienė

The Daugai region is rich in its nature, its famous past, but most of all in its people - hard-working and creative. One of them is Onutė Zenevičienė, an artistic soul. It all started in 2007, when Onutė lost her job and was looking for something meaningful to do. She tried various techniques: encaustic, decoupage, wicker weaving, carvings, simegraphy, wool weaving, beading, stained glass, silk painting. In this way, he discovered the artistic vein that had been within him and which he now lets flow out of his body. As Onutė herself says: "All the techniques are lovely, but silk painting just captivated me. It's relaxing when you lose track of time, it's such a magical process that draws you in and works like a meditation. Silk painting is not a cheap, painstaking activity, but when you see the result when you are done, it is simply mesmerising."
