Rima Navickienė

Rima was born and raised in Alytus, and currently lives in Plasapnininkai village, Butrimonys municipality. She has been interested in handicrafts since childhood, and was taught embroidery and knitting by her mother. Therefore, it can be said that this craft hobby comes from her family. Rima works meticulously and is able to create a variety of unique handmade products.

Since 2009 she has been a member of the Council of the Alytus District Society of Persons with Disabilities, where she represents Butrimoniai eldership. The chairwoman of the Alytus District Society for the Disabled invited the craftswoman to participate in the handicraft group. Rima joined the club and started to make various handmade products, she liked beading the most and started to take further interest in it, taking part in Biser's online classes.

Nowadays, Rima makes a variety of jewellery - earrings, bracelets, necklaces, brooches, etc. More complex jewellery takes a few days to make, while simpler pieces such as earrings take up to half an hour to make. She makes jewellery according to patterns and likes to try new things.

Rima also makes other handicrafts. She creates flowers and crepe paper compositions, decorations for anniversaries, Christmas toys and many other handicrafts. Rima creates mainly for her family and as gifts for friends, but she also receives commissions. She participates in various events, fairs and exhibitions.
