Valė Smolskienė
Valė Smolskienė, who lives in Daugai, is an active, creative and artistic personality, who takes an active part in the cultural life of Daugai. She associates handicrafts with femininity, peace and patience. As Valė says: "You can't make them in a hurry, distractedly, inconsistently. But the process itself is the most enjoyable, because it's creativity, freedom. Spending time with needlework is like meditation. And the result is an additional reward. It's really nice to make something for yourself, for your family, for your home. It's gratifying to be able to give a piece of thought, a piece of heart and warmth to others, to be able to share, to show attention."
Valė's favourite carvings - paintings can be a cosy and beautiful interior detail, a decoration element, a story, a great gift idea. And dreamcatchers are an original home accent, a tourist souvenir. It was believed that a dreamcatcher was a lucky sign, a talisman with mystical powers to change a person's life, to achieve goals, and to protect dreams.
