Eičiūnai chapel

The Eičiūnai chapel was founded and started its activity in 2000. The band has been led by Dalia Jusienė, an organiser of cultural events, since its inception. The composition of the band changes frequently, but the style does not change. Repertoire: folk music - waltzes, romances, fun polkas, various dances and popular folk songs. The soul of the band is Dalia Jusienė, a long-time cultural worker. It is very gratifying to see so many wonderful and talented people from the region joining in the music-making.

Leader Milda Stanevičienė, cultural events organiser of the Butrimonys branch

The collective has 10 members. The band participates in events and festivals organised by the Butrimonys municipality and the district, performs in neighbouring and distant towns and districts for colleagues, friends and acquaintances. The members of the band unite their personal talents and strive to make the song and music last for a long time, from one generation to the next, with respectful sounds.

The main instruments are the accordion and the armonica, as well as the bassoon, the drum and the tambourine, various rattles and the old-fashioned "valkaunyčia".

The band participates in many events in the local area. The Eičiūnai band prepares the annual programmes of the ethnic action "Visa Lietuva šoka", the local people's festival, the festival "Kaime žydi abrikosai" (Village blooms apricots) with its musical works and is welcomed and loved abroad.

In the village of Eičiūnai there are many creative women, people who are not indifferent to artistic activities, who like and promote a beautiful home and environment, so the participants of the band often get together to make Christmas bouquets, wreaths, trees and toys to decorate their homes for the holidays, and also sit down together to make masks for Užgavėnės and, when Easter is close, they also join together to make wax eggs.
