Santaika village theatre

The actors are a group of creative people of different ages, united by their love for theatre, creativity and the desire to uphold theatrical traditions in their village.

The very first production is K. Saja's three-part comedy "Šventežeris". Later, the play was revived in 2005 and performed at the theatre day events of the Republican Song Festival in Vilnius. With children and young people the production of J. Erlickas' "Kolumbo gimtadienis" was staged and with this performance participated in the Republican Schoolchildren Song Festival in Vilnius in 2007.

In 2008, G. Švabienė's play "Nepavyko" saw the light of day. This play won the theatre critic Vytautas Maknis money prize. Birutė Treigienė was awarded the prize for the best actress and Genovaite Švabienė, the author of the best play, was awarded a certificate of appreciation.

The premieres were staged at the Santaika Culture House, and the productions were also admired by the audience in neighbouring communities.

This was followed by A. Kazragis's "Tuščia kertė širdyje", J. Grušas's "Nenuorama žmona", G. Švabienė's "Mis Sodžius", J. Vailionienė's and A. Surdokienė's "Dideli nemalonumai", a musical fairy tale based on H.K. Andersen's "Coliukė", J. Erlickas' "Kolumbo gimtadienis", V. Ruminavičiūtė's "Sunki našta", artistic-musical compositions "Prie liepsnojančio klevo", "Čia, kur šaukia širdis", "Esu iš meilės, dėl meilės ir meilėje".

A play was performed – "Pelytė Pepsė" (based on a dutch folk tale), Kubilinskas' "Strakaliukas ir Makaliukas", J. Degutytė's "Mergytė ieško pasakos", V. Žilinskaitė's "Žiogas stiklinėje", and J. Vailionienė's and A. Surdokienė's tragicomedy "Klaida".

Every year the village theatre takes part in the festival of village theatres "Kaimo liktarna" in the theatre of the artist Antanas Žmuidzinavičius. In 2021, the theatre staged the play "Klaida" based on the tragicomedy by A. Surdokienė and J. Vailionienė. Rimas Krutulis, an actor of this theatre, was nominated as the best actor at the festival-competition, and the theatre itself won the sympathy of the audience.
