Sidabra

The Simnas branch of LPS "Bočiai" was established on 22 December 2000. Since 2004, Aldona Marčiukonienė has been the head of the group and takes care of its activities.

The group "Sidabra" is often called a vocal ensemble, while for others it is a folk music band. There have been frequent changes in the leaders of the musical part of the ensemble. Now the ensemble is led by Robertas Vilkauskas, the artistic director of the Simnas branch of the Culture Centre. "Sidabra actively participates in various events: the 100th anniversary of the restoration of the Lithuanian State in 2018 at the Vilnius Garrison Officers' Quarters of the Lithuanian Armed Forces, district events, community festivals, and the Alytus town festival "Dzūkų turtai". Frequent guests at regional events, they presented a soulful programme of patriotic songs to the audience at the events commemorating the Battle of Kalniškės at the site of the Battle of Kalniškės, Lazdijai district, etc.
