Simnyčia

The band "Simnyčia" has been in existence since 1974. 46 years of creative activity have been marked by participation in various regional, national, international events, festivals, competitions, contests, where they have repeatedly become winners and laureates:
- 2012, 2015, 2020 - graduate of the Dzūkija Region Band Festival and Competition "Grok, Jurgeli";
- 2013, 2014-2015 - winner and graduate of the national festival "Užgavėnių" at the Lithuanian Folk Life Museum;
- 2014 - participated in the anniversary Song Festival "Čia mūsų namai".
One cannot imagine the Simnas Kaziukas fair without the band's fun songs and dancing polkas, as well as the men's voices at the State (Coronation of King Mindaugas of Lithuania) Day celebrations in Daugai.
"Simnyčia" participates in events, celebrations and festivals organised by the Alytus District Municipality, as well as in concerts in neighbouring municipalities. In 2014, the 40th anniversary of the band's creative activity was crowned by the presentation and commercial release of the CD "Kaime aš užgau".
The activities of the ensemble are characterised by a varied programme and traditional Lithuanian music. The members of the ensemble cherish Lithuanian folk traditions and decorate the events organised by the Simnas branch of the Culture Centre with their youthful energy, improving sound and growing professionalism.
