Suvingio banga
"Sometimes you need human warmth, you need a smile, you need a song." With this everyday thought, in 2014, the enterprising women of Daugai came together and created a women's ensemble, with Stasė Maževičienė taking on the responsible role of the leader of the group.

The ensemble has a beautiful friendship with the Daugai branch of the community "Viltis" in Alytus district. It is here that rehearsals take place, new ideas and concepts are born, which turn into meaningful works.
The first debut of the ensemble took place at the opening ceremony of the craft yard of the Daugai community public organisation "Daugų Kraštas".
Memorable performances of the women's ensemble took place at the festivities of the Pivašiūnai Crafts Centre, Pocelononys village association "Perkūnkalnis", Varėnos District Gudžiai Community, and Mikalavas Village Community. The group performed at the celebration of the International Day of the Disabled in Alytus, the event "From Heart to Heart" in Vilkija, and participated in the Daugai eldership's celebration of the disabled. The songs of "Suvingio banga" were performed in Daugai Supportive Care and Nursing Hospital, Pivašiūnai eldership Care and Parish Home, Miroslavas eldership Care Home. Memorable meetings took place in Makniūnai community, Daugai branch of Alytus District Public Library, Nemunaitis eldership festival, friendship afternoon of seniors' club "Bočiai" in Simnas. The women's ensemble also contributed to the implementation of various activities of Daugai Third Age University. The ensemble also enjoyed success at the Vilnius Republican Festival of Art Ensembles "Jei daina širdy, esame jauni".
Together with the teachers of the Alytus District School of Arts and Sports, they performed at the event dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the restoration of the Lithuanian State, which took place in the Seimas Palace of the Republic of Lithuania. Visited the opening celebrations of the school year of the Third Age Universities in Daugai and Alytus, and the Atvelykis party at the district art and sports school in Daugai. The women's ensemble is a frequent guest at events organised by the Daugai branch of the Alytus District Municipal Culture Centre.
The ensemble performs the social action "Under the wing of kindness" and dedicates its wonderful songs to the residents of old people's homes in Vilnius, Prienai, Varėna, Balbieriškis.
They are very willing to participate wherever they are invited, welcomed and needed. And the best appreciation of the ensemble's creative activity is the smiles and warm applause of the audience.
The ensemble's credo: "We want to sing, we want to expand our friendship ties with existing and new ensembles, we want to rise even higher on the "Suvingio banga". After all, it is said that a person who sings never grows old in his heart!
