Mark your calendar to spend 6 July in Daugai. A spectacular Coronation Day celebration will take place in the town of Daugai, located on the shores of the lake in the Alytus district.
The courtyards of the elderships' will be buzzing in the town park, where you will be welcomed by the generous Dzūkai people, who will treat you not only with bread, but also.... The event will offer lessons in old crafts, dances and songs.
There will be a park of installations created by district enterprises and communities, street musicians' stations, and a festive parade of water vehicles and rowing competitions on the lake.
There will be poetry on Šventapetris Hill and a puppet show for the little ones in the gymnasium courtyard.
In the evening, the Honorary Citizen of Alytus District will be announced in the central square, and after dark, a breathtaking light show will take place, and the country's most famous performers will give concerts!
