Lithuanian market with Italian flavours in Daugai on Sunday

The town of Daugai in Alytus district, located on the shores of Lake Didžiulis, is looking forward to the warming season and invites visitors to come and visit this weekend. On Sunday, a traditional market will be held here, bustling with vendors, the smell of Lithuanian cold beet soup and... Italian pizzas.

On Sunday 23 April, the third market organised by locals will take place in the courtyard of the Daugai café "Turgaus4". The organisers stress that this time it will be very spring-like and rich in various goods.

"The courtyard of the café will be filled with familiar vendors from the autumn and winter markets, as well as new vendors. There will be antiques, meat products, and promises of natural snowball berry juice, honey, various seedlings and many other goods," says Povilas Senkonis, one of the organisers of the market in Daugai.

On the day of the market, the courtyard café will be offering cold beet soup, shish kebabs and Neapolitan pizzas. 

The organisers invite you to come to the Daugai market not only to shop, but also to explore the town, take a walk along the shore of Lake Didžiulis, and come back in the summer to enjoy water activities and beautiful nature.
